We design buildings that are straightforward in principle and rigorous in execution. Our work is shaped by passive environmental thinking, material honesty and an understanding of how things are made.

Rather than relying on complex systems, we prioritise low-technology solutions, considering orientation, daylight, thermal mass, natural ventilation and careful detailing. Craft is foundational, guiding our projects from the very first sketch. We work closely with skilled makers and contractors, respecting the techniques, character and inherent qualities of materials specified.

We favour traditional and natural materials, chosen not only for their aesthetic appeal but for their longevity, repairability and low embodied carbon. Through intelligent simplicity and careful construction, our architecture works naturally before it works mechanically, creating comfort, efficiency, and lasting quality.

Our projects contain moments that unfold over time, a shift in light, a framed view, a compression before release.

We are drawn to the quiet drama of space, architectural gestures that are not immediately loud but deeply felt. These elements are never arbitrary, emerging from a close reading of context, brief and movement, bringing character without excess and joy without spectacle.

Our work rewards attention. The longer a space is inhabited, the more it reveals. The unexpected is not purely decorative, but spatial, experiential and embedded in the architecture itself. Expressive yet restrained.

We believe architecture begins with how a space feels. Before style, image or decoration, there is atmosphere; shaped by light, proportion, material and movement.

We focus on clear volumes and simple, well-considered layouts. Natural light defines spaces and supports calm. Materials are chosen for their honesty and durability, and the way they meet is carefully resolved. The result is architecture that feels intuitive and easy to inhabit.

Performance and comfort are part of this from the outset. A well-insulated envelope stabilises temperature and lowers energy use. Natural ventilation supports healthy indoor air quality. Daylight lowers reliance on artificial lighting while enhancing wellbeing. For us, sustainability is therefore inseparable from spatial quality.
